Last year when my uncle was diagnosed with initial phase of cancer his world turned upside down. The news was a shock, an overwhelming storm of emotions for him.
He had to go through number of chemotherapies that led to loss of taste, hairfall, gain of weight and many such side effects of chemotherapy. He was into great weakness that he couldn’t go out and was bedridden for almost an year.
However he remained positive and motivated with help of his hobbies like painting and reading. His hobbies and tremendous support from friends and family helped him survive the depression.
After one and half year he had gone through 4 chemotherapies and finally my reports said that he was fully out of cancer. His hair grew back and finally he could be back to my normal life. Now, as he is out of the treatment and look forward to the future. Not to be scared of Cancer, what he tells me, more than the disease, it’s the depression that come with it, that we have to fight for.
